It must be patently obvious to anyone driving on roads in Surrey or Hampshire (and maybe other counties) that the County Road Authorities are allowing our roads to deteriorate to a dangerous condition - potentially life threatening.
I have seen pot holes inches deep and areas where the whole top coating of the road surface is missing.
Indeed I hit a pot hole on the road from Elstead to Farnham by the Donkey public house recently with the front wheel of my Volvo Estate and it made my teeth rattle. I stopped and went back to look at the road to see what had caused the impact and it was a large hole with a raised rim - double whammy.
A friend of mine had to replace a tyre and an Alloy wheel after smashing it in a pot hole in Surrey.
Imagine a young scooter rider hitting a pot hole and being catapulted off his/her scooter - possibbly fatally.
This situation must be addressed urgently.
The money must be there for maintenance, since we are all paying road tax and tax on petrol etc.
The County road engineers and budget setters may end up with blood on their hands and need to be pressurised to dramatically ramp up quality maintenance as a matter of priority.
